what does it mean?

I have had a dream about my car being stolen several times.  It happened again last night.  In my dream I had met a friend on the opposite side of town from my house and parked my car there.  I don’t know why, but I remember thinking I shouldn’t leave my car here, but it will probably be alright.  I went to find it the next morning and it was gone.  I looked up and down the street where I parked and I could not find it.  All I could think was “I can’t believe this is happening again.”  Since I have had this dream before I knew I would find it eventually and the stereo would be gone and perhaps a window broken.  But this time I was even afraid that the wheels would be gone.  I ended up waking up before I found the car.  It was very strange.  I had not really thought much about what it means before.  It wasn’t until today that I started thinking that this has to mean something significant for me to have dreamt it more than once or even twice.  Most of what I have found about the meaning of a car being stolen in a dream relates to the loss of identity.  The car indicates independence and direction in life.  Thus the car being stolen symbolizes the inability to move through life.  I guess it makes sense seeing as how my life has been going lately.  I know it will all get better, but for right now I’m sort of at a loss as to how to make it better.  I hate not having control over my situation.

following dreams??

“Follow your dreams and don’t give up.”  Words we have heard all our lives.  “Keep trying and eventually you will get what you want.”  What a bunch of crap!  What are you supposed to do when the things you want are completely out of reach?  Are you supposed to keep dreaming and keep trying, all the while knowing your efforts are going to be fruitless?  Are you supposed to keep your hopes and expectations up so high that you are constantly let down?  “Don’t settle for anything less than what you absolutely want.”  First of all, how are you to know what you absolutely want if you don’t at least try other things first?  Take relationships for instance.  How are you to know the kind of friend or mate you want if you have no reference tools to use in the final decision making process?  And if you don’t choose to have friends or date, waiting for that “perfect” person to share your life with, aren’t you setting yourself up for a lonely existence?  You might as well sail to a deserted island and live the rest of your days alone.  How about getting your “dream job?”  I know what I would love to have as my ‘dream job’, but I know I’ll never attain it.  Sometimes you have to “settle.”  Sometimes you have to make the best of the situation and be happy.  It does no good to dwell on dreams that will never come true.
